Each year the Yarmouth Art Society and the Yarmouth Writers’ Group get together for a joint show. This year the basic theme was post cards. The writers did a post card message and the artists did an interpretation. The post card and message will be printed separate from the work on display at the Yarmouth County Museum gallery space. This piece is based on writing by Julian Smith called Come-from-Aways that makes illusion to things unexpectedly found on the beach. I called it Come-from-Aways, The Movie, mostly because I had to get the detail of one frame to the proportions of a postcard and needed to use the rest of the canvas. It is a mixed media of acrylic, foil, ink and paste done in somewhat of comic book style.
